Pizzarium Bonci is a small pizzeria.  It doesn’t have any seated tables and the pizza are eaten standing up.  There are bar-type tables inside and outside of the restaurant; however, there are no chairs to sit on.  Bonci has a fun vibe that matches its decor.  The welcoming and cheerful staff reheats your pizza slices if you can make up your mind.  Pizza to Italian is like sushi to the Japanese.  They take a lot of pride in it.  I’m surprise it’s not their main commerce source.

Pizzarium Bonci has the largest choice of different pizzas in the world.  The Roman style pizza is different from the American counterpart.  The American pizza is heavy on the sauce, cheese, and toppings; however, Pizzarium Bonci is heavy on the toppings with its fluffy and crispy dough.  The pizza dough is where it excels; the light dough provides a crunch with every bite.

The pizza toppings are creative.  It ranges from vegetables to iberico jamon to large ham slices to zucchini.  Bonci doesn’t skim on the toppings either; they’re heavy handed with the toppings like my favorite bartender at my local watering hole.  The pizza have a drizzle of sauce with no cheese.  It’s definitely highlights the toppings and dough.  Pizzarium Bonci is a must visit while in Rome.  Rome is a city where you relax like San Diego.
