Ramses Hilton hotel is one of the better hotels in Cairo, Egypt. It has a view of the Nile River and it’s steps from the Egyptian Museum.
Ramses Hilton is a fantastic hotel. The hotel is a little rundown, but the service is where the hotel excels. In addition, the Ramses offers affordable room rates with its premium location in Cairo. It’s close to all the monuments. It’s about forty-five minutes from the Cairo International Airport depending on traffic.

Room Quality
As mentioned, the Ramses is a little rundown. The rooms are pretty old. The bathrooms and towels are visibly old; furthermore, the carpets are worn down. The TV isn’t the latest Samsung HDTV. In addition, the rooms don’t offer anything spectacular except for the view of the Nile River or a city view.
Hotel Amenities
Ramses offers an array of amenities. They have restaurants on the 3rd floor, first floor, and an English Pub — Sherlock Bar — on the first floor. In addition, it has a casino on the 3rd floor and a few souvenir shops on the first floor. However, the thing I really liked about the Ramses was the 24 hours currency exchange office. The rates offered in the hotel were identical to Xe rates. In addition, they didn’t charge a fee for exchanging money.
Hotel Concierge
Ramses falls flat when it comes to their rooms. However, the hotel’s concierge is where they succeed. The hotel staff went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable during my stay. In addition, they packed me a breakfast cause they knew I had a day trip planned to Luxor. They had a taxi ready for me in the morning with a return ride in the evening. You don’t have to drive and it’s a good thing cause you’re out of your element. Cairo’s traffic is terrible and it’s not the most structured driving either. I didn’t have enough Egyptian Pounds on me, so they let me pay for the cab ride when I got back at night.
Furthermore, the hotel has a 12 foot wall separating it from the streets. Plus, the security guards checks every car entering the hotel grounds. The hotel guards search under the car and they ask for identification for anyone entering the hotel grounds. It’s a good idea to stay somewhere with a wall separating the street and the hotel grounds. It creates a blockade with the hotel and anyone trying to ram a car into the hotel. Lastly, they have metal detectors at each entrance, so it’s an extremely safe hotel.

Last Words
Overall, I really liked Ramses Hilton for its extraordinary service. The hotel staff were all very helpful, accommodating, and they went out of their way for me. Egypt has a bad rep for some of the past terrorist attacks but the city is very safe. The tourist police go the extra mile to keep tourists safe in the city. I would highly recommend the Ramses if you’re looking for some affordable with extraordinary service and a prime location. It didn’t cost more than a 100 USD a night.
