The DoubleTree Suites by Hilton is a good choice for a night in Salt Lake City. It’s in the middle of the city and not far from some of Salt Lake City’s famous landmarks.
The DoubleTree Suites by Hilton is located on the corner W 600 S and W Temple Street. It’s not one of the most luxurious hotels in the city but it suited my needs for my one night in Salt Lake City. The hotel is far from glamorous and looks a bit run down. However, the price definitely made up for it.

I had some JetBlue points to use. I decided to do a quick solo Park City snowboarding trip since the round-trip flight would only cost me about a $100 in points from Long Beach, California. However, the only caveat was I fly into Salt Lake City on Friday then fly back out on Saturday night. It wasn’t much time to experience the city plus spend a full day in Park City snowboarding. I didn’t mind cause Park City was on my bucket list and this was an opportunity to get it checked off.
I did a search for hotels in Park City. I almost fainted at Park City’s hotel prices; I couldn’t find anything under $300 for a night. There was no way I was going to spend over $300 for a room for one night. I started to look at hotels in Salt Lake City since it’s only about a 30 minute drive to Park City. DoubleTree Suites by Hilton was a cheaper option than staying in Park City.

Salt Lake City is filled with a lot of chain hotels. The prices ranged from $100 to $250 per night. I decided to go with the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton cause I was getting more space for my money. The room was a two room suite for $99 per night excluding taxes. They provided free WiFi. In addition, they had a restaurant, gym, business center, jacuzzi and a pool. Parking was not free. However, the last few amenities were useless to me since I was only staying for a night.

Lastly, the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton is far from lavish. I didn’t mind since I don’t usually stay in lavish hotels; the hotel decor is a bit dated and tacky. As a solo traveler, I try to lower my cost where I can and the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton was the perfect option for me. The large room and WiFI provided comfort at a decent price. I would recommend staying here if you don’t mind tacky decor but want to be comfortable. It’s a few blocks from a shopping mall.
