Army Navy Burger + Burrito In Boracay

Army Navy was the first meal I ate in Boracay.  It’s steps from the sands and set up like your favorite taco shop in Los Angeles.  There’s benches and the food prices are really cheap.

The staff is very friendly.  The thing with the Filipinos is they repeat how much you give them.  For example, they’ll say “Sir.  You gave me 9.95 pesos.  Is this correct, Sir?”  It’s a different culture and a definitely a polite one.  It’s a nice change from New York’s “Going or staying?” so I can’t really complain about Boracay.

Anyway,  we ate here twice and I had the following items:

  1. Hamburger – The bun had sesame on it and it includes all your typical Western condiments like ketchup, mayonnaise and so forth.  The texture of the beef was a bit off in my opinion.  It didn’t taste as juicy and beefy as what I’m accustomed to in the United States.  The patty was dry like California’s Death Valley.

  2. Open Face Quesadilla – It had tomatoes, green onions, white onions, 3 types of cheese and chicken.  The tortilla was crispy from being on the grill.  I folded it like a New York pizza.  The overall taste was good but I’m a bit spoiled from living in Southern California where Mexican food like the white sands of Boracay.

Overall, Army Navy isn’t bad.  However, it’s not the greatest burgers and burritos in the world especially if you’re from Southern California.  The major plus of the restaurant is it’s 10 feet from the white sands of Boracay. Army Navy Boracay
