Pierre Hermé delivers pastries, macarons, chocolate and everything your sweet tooth desires. It’s better than Ladurée. Trust me.
Ladurée is the French luxury bakery that’s synonymous with the double-decker macaron since 1862. However, the times have change and chefs have innovated as technology advance. Now, don’t get me wrong. Ladurée is the standard bearer, but Pierre Hermé is my favorite.
Pierre Hermé has a few location in Paris and across the world. Pierre Hermé also has a location in Hong Kong, which is a testament to the quality of macarons. This location is next to Arc de Triomphe and right across from the non-Saint Germain L’atelier de Joël Robuchon location.
Pierre Hermé was on my list of places to try cause I’ve heard many good things about them and I wanted to compare them to Ladurée. Here are the two must try macarons:
- White Truffle – The White Truffle’s pungent musk will fill your nostrils as you take a whiff of it. The decadently rich flavors of the macarons melted in your mouth and heavenly yet earthy creamy texture filled your palate.
- Chocolate Foie Gras – Chocolate and Foie Gras are two of the most luxurious and decadent items on earth. The two combined will give you a sensory overload cause its a combination of sweet and salty. The two rich flavors compliment each other extremely well and provided a foodgasm per se.
White Truffle & Chocolate Foie Gras
Overall, I would have to say Pierre Hermé is definitely better than Ladurée. The creative and high-end ingredients makes it a must stop while in Paris. It’s definitely the best macarons I’ve eaten in my life. Hands down.
